September 2009 Business Opportunity Vacancy Announcements
Special Notes:
The Business Opportunity Application (word doc) has been revised again and should be used for this selection cycle. In the application, please designate the following:
- each facility by facility number for which the application is submitted;
- which of the Division’s District Offices you intend to take the selection test;
- which of the testing formats is needed; and
- any special accommodations needing prior approval by the B.E.P. Compliance Director.
There are two (2) Business Opportunities offered in this September 2009 selection cycle. They are presented by Business Enterprises’ Region.
Region 1 – Panhandle and Northwest Florida (Darryl Lane, Consultant)
There are no facility vacancies in this Region.
Region 2 – First Coast and North Central Florida (Bernie Kaiserian, Consultant)
There are no facility vacancies in this Region.
Region 3 – Space Coast and Central Florida (Raquel Falero, Consultant)
Facility 272: A Snack Bar at the Southwest Florida Water Management District Offices in Brooksville.
Region 4 – Tampa Bay Area and Southwest Florida (Maureen Fink, Consultant)
Facility 555: A Non-Highway vending machine operation at the Manasota Post Office in Sarasota.
Region 5 – Gold Coast and Southeast Florida (Chenel Chevalier, Consultant)
There are no facility vacancies in this Region.
Instructions
Testing Information
The test for the September 2009 Selections will take place on October 12, 2009, starting promptly at 2:00 PM in the District Office designated by the applicant in his or her application. Persons arriving after that time will be turned away and disqualified for further consideration. The test shall conclude no later than 4:00 PM, unless a time extension has been prior approved by the BEP Compliance Director as a reasonable accommodation.
No additional notice or correspondence will be sent to an applicant regarding the test’s location, time or date. It is the responsibility of the applicant to contact the designated District Office for directions if needed.
Interview Information
The Selection Panel will meet at 1:30 PM on October 26, 2009 in the Division’s Tampa District Office located at 415 South Armenia Avenue. You can use a web site like Map Quest for driving directions or call the office at 813-871-7190. Interviews for qualified applicants may begin as early as late afternoon that day or at appointed times the following days. It is expected that the Panel’s business will be concluded by 5:00 PM on October 29, 2009, if not sooner depending on number of applicants qualifying for an interview.
The Compliance Director will advise qualified applicants by e-mail or telephone of the specific date and time of their interview. No additional notice or correspondence will be sent to an applicant regarding his or her interview time or date.
Absolute Deadline
The absolute deadline to apply for this location is close of business at 5:00 PM on October 5, 2009, without exception.
